Last fall I had to do the complete legal process of eviction, which means the courts toss him out of my house and he has to pay me for the entire time he lived there during the process and passed due rent, and for all damages made to the property. I knew better than to feel sorry for anyone and I knew better to let anyone work off the damage deposit, but he still owed so I get that part back in the settlement.
Then I had another couple move but they had told me in advance they were moving.
Since the house were the couple lived had less to fix and /or clean I got that done first.
And since winter had set in I let the other house sit, I know I was losing money but no one really moves in the wintertime, until February when income tax comes in.
I had made the arrangements to have the carpets cleaned by one man and the house cleaned by another lady, the lady has the key and can let the man in when time comes.
I was told that he would clean the carpets today but that did not happen. When I asked the lady that will clean if he came she said something about his SUV was acting up and he would NOT out his carpet cleaner on the back if his truck cause it might rain.
I was thinking " why not put it up front, its not that big."
Another weekend and nothing done at all! This is why you most certainly do not pay before the work is completed. I am thinking about painting it myself now.
Just another day in the life of a landlady.
