Unique Pistachio People Dioramas

in Art

Hellie Blythe, a Paso Robles, California artist,  paints and creates amazing mixed media dioramas in cigar boxes. As I write this post, her work is on display at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles, the art hub of the city. I have been admiring her originality and creativity for years now. She loves to use pistachio nutshells in creating the people for her dioramas. The header for this post comes from her "The Alchemist." See the entire diorama below.

The works themselves are original enough, but her labels displayed with them crack me up. Here's he label for "The Alchemist."

Here's another of my favorites -- "The World's First Successful Brain Transplant."

Here's the label I really love for this.

To see even more of Hellie Blythe's dioramas with pistachio people, see Hellie Blythe and the Pistachio Figures in Cigar Box Vignettes. They include "The Orthodontist," "The Magician" (not to be missed), "Los Mariachis," and finally the unforgettable "Don Pisachiote."
