I love North Carolina, particularly its mountains. That's a view from atop Grandfather Mountain above.
This state has been home to my family for generations. In fact, my grandchildren are the 10th generation born here. With camera in hand, I've visited all 100 counties in our state. Having once handled the North Carolina Tourism PR account, I feel I know the Old North State fairly well. So, let's take a trip through the mountains.
A View From Looking Glass Rock
From a distance, Looking Glass Rock appears to me to resemble a woolly mammoth.
Looking Glass From the Blue Ridge Parkway
One of North Carolina's most popular waterfalls, Looking Glass Falls, starts atop the great woolly mammoth.

Let's head up the road to Black Balsam, one of my favorite hiking spots. In the winter, it can appear to be a scene right out of the Old West. But in summer, the rhododendrons burst into full flower.

Let me take you to one more stop on this quick trip. We're headed to Stone Mountain, a granite dome in the northwestern quadrant of the state.
Hope you enjoyed our quick trip. We'll take another one soon.
